William "Webb" Callicutt died Dec. 1, 2016, at his home in Hotchkiss from complications of scleroderma. He was 66.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss.
He was born in Memphis Tenn., June 21, 1950, to Chester and Dorothy Callicutt and lived in Senatobia, Miss., until he graduated from high school. He received his bachelor's degree from Memphis State University and his master's degree from Colorado School of Mines.
Mr. Callicutt worked as a consultant to the Minerals Policy Program at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he met his wife, Lynn. He later was the weed coordinator for Delta County until his retirement. He served on the Delta County Planning Commission for many years with the Rogers Mesa Domestic Water Company.
He enjoyed reading, skiing, hiking, rafting and biking.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his mother-in-law, May Aiko Haramoto; his sister, Virginia Wyatt; his nephew, Cliff Wyatt; niece, Casey Gallaspy; and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Chester Callicutt.
