Wilma Lucile Lugard of Delta died May 18, 2017, at HopeWest Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 81.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Ecert Cemetery with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Eckert Cemetery.
She was born in Delta Aug. 22, 1935, to Merle and Mary (Pollock) Oliver. She went to school in Eckert and Delta and graduated from Delta High School. Aside from living in California and Kansas for a short time, she spent most of her life in the Delta area.
On Jan. 12, 1991, she married Sheldon Newton Lugard in Cedaredge. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2005.
Mrs. Lugard was a cosmetologist. She was also a member of the Eckert Presbyterian Church and the Cedaredge Clowns.
She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, gardening, fishing and making people laugh.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon; and four sisters, Irene Hawkins, Mary Davis, Edith Williams and Esther Lovato.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
