Winners listed for Delta Fine Arts' annual show

Delta Fine Arts held its annual show and sale at Bill Heddles Recreation Center June 22-24.

The show was judged by Arleta Pech, who awarded Best of Show to an oil painting titled "Late Summer" by Joe Milich.

Pech is a former resident of Arvada who now calls Austin home. She works in many media, including watercolor and oil. Her work is known for its realism and luminosity, painted with layers of transparent glazes. She also makes lampwork beads that have that same luminosity.

The winners of each category were:

Student -- "More than Wolf," open media by Kayla Mock, first; "Skinwalker," open media by Amber Swain, second; "Loonie Lula," 3D by McKenzie Proctor, third.

3D -- "What'cha Doi'in Mom," clay sculpture by Debra Bradley, first; "Ceramic Eclipse," ceramics by Roger Hutchison, second; "About to Stand," fired clay by Daphna Russell, third.

Photography -- "Morning on Oban Bay" by Joe Rosenbaum, first; "Softly Dreaming" by Linda Love, second; "Manhattan Fog" by Roxanne Morris, third.

Drawing -- "Cypripedioideae Paphiliopedilum," botanical illustration by Joann Rosenbaum, first; "Dear John," color pencil by Judy Campbell; "Asian Elephant," prismacolor pencil by Karen Esser, third.

Open media - pastel -- "Chasing the Night Away," mixed media by Robbie Joyce Helm, first; "Portigo at Water's Edge," scratch board by Linda Aubery, second; "Red Shadows," pastel by Thomas Mog, third.

Water media -- "Joyful Love" by Sheryl Williams, first; "Relics of Yesteryear by Dani Tupper, second; "Rain Forest Fantasy" by Mary Bollig, third.

Oil-acrylic -- "Like Mother Like Daughter," acrylic by Larry Dumler, first; "Reflections at Dusk on Pond," oil by Amy Daniels, second; "Winter Cacti," oil by H. Cedar Keshet, third.

Honorable mention -- "Lily," water media by Betty McKinney; "Bursting Beauties Lilies and Mums," water media by Virginia Blackstock; "Flowers of Winter," oil by Susan Jochum; "Darby's Canyon," open media by Ella Kelly.

People's choice -- "Onomea Falls," photograph by Joe Rosenbaum.
