Thursday night's women league titlest, Cornerstone Home Lending, won the title without much difficulty with an 11-1 record. Crested Oak Dentistry was a distant second with a 5-7 mark followed by Overholt Sheds and H & R Block with identical 4-8 records.

Tournament play began July 7 with Cornerstone and H & R playing in game one and Overholt Sheds and Crested Oak Dentristry playing in game two.

Cornerstone outscored H & R, 12-4, in the opener and moved on to earn a berth in round two.

Overholt Sheds wasn't able to hold back Crested Oak Dentistry in game two falling by a score of 14-5.

In the winners bracket, Cornerstone got the best of Crested Oak, 11-8, and earned the first berth in this week's finals at 7:30 p.m.

Crested Oak dropped into the losers' bracket where they waited to see who their next opponent would be.

H & R Block scored a 7-5 decision over Overholt to earn the final playoff spot against Crested Oak in a game to be played on July 14 at 6:30 p.m. The winner plays Cornerstone for the title at 7:30 p.m.

Should Cornerstone fall in the 7:30 game, a second championship game would be necessary to determine the Women's Slowpitch champion in the double elimination tournament. That contest would be played at 8:30 p.m.
