The ENGAGE Business Challenge kicked off Feb. 26 at CB's Tavern in Delta, with a meeting that included the 15 businesses that were accepted into the challenge. The goals of the Business Challenge are to foster entrepreneurship in Delta County and to help build up downtown business districts throughout our county.

The competitors will engage in classes, community meetings, one-on-one coaching, and other activities over the next 10 weeks, which will culminate in a public event on Thursday, May 9. This event will provide an opportunity for all of the participants to provide their business plans and give a presentation on their businesses, to a panel of judges who will choose the top five winners.

The ENGAGE Business Challenge participants are competing for $11,000 in cash awards provided by sponsors Alpine Bank, Region 10, Elevate Fiber, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Startup Colorado, City of Montrose, and Delta Building Center.
