Orchard City resident, Agnes "Aggie" Ruth Slaughenhaupt died on Sunday, March 31, 2019. She was 94.
She was born April 25, 1924 to Harley and Mary (Duffy) Williams on Kansas Mesa in Collbran.
She attended the Little Creek School through the eighth grade and then went to Collbran Union High School.
She married George Slaughenhaupt June 7, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. After her husband returned from serving his country during World War II, work took the family throughout the Western Slope and into Utah. They made their home in Cedaredge for 28 years.
Mrs. Slaughenhaupt enjoyed her family, her flowers, hummingbird watching, traveling, camping and cheering on Tim Tebow.
She is survived by sons, Joe (Querida) Slaughenhaupt of Cortez, Ken Slaughenhaupt of Orchard City, Jerry (Susan) Slaughenhaupt of Washington, Utah, and daughter, Janice Murray of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Joan Hutton of Grand Junction; sister-in-law, Cookie Williams of Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and extended family.
She was preceded in death in 2001 by her husband of 59 years, George Slaughenhaupt; sisters, Ida Newby, Edna Bailey, Evelyn Osborn, and Betty Hawkins; and brothers, Paul Williams, and Edward Williams.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home in Delta. The family requests no flowers.
