It wouldn't be Deltarado Days without the kickoff barbecue hosted annually by Altrusa International of Delta. This year the popular event is moving to the Lions Pavilion at Confluence Park. From 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, Altrusans will be serving a tasty dinner of smoked brisket, pulled pork, cowboy beans, corn salad, rolls and bar cookies. The cost is $12 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. They can be purchased at the event or in advance at Ruby's Flowers, 755 Main Street, or the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, 301 Main Street.
You can also enjoy an ice cold adult beverage from the beer garden, where the friendly folks from 4B's Brewery will be manning the taps.
Participants of all ages can take part in a Fun Glo Run, taking place on the red rock trails around Confluence Park. To register, check in at the corner near the dog park any time between 7 and 8 p.m. Organizers will provide glow-in-the-dark items for the youngest participants. The course will not be monitored; parents/guardians will be responsible for their children.
Then, grab your lawn chair or spread out a blanket on the grass to watch "The Greatest Showman" with your friends and family. The outdoor movie is sponsored by Grace Community Church. Church members will also have some lawn games available, such as volleyball and cornhole, so come early and have some fun with the whole family.
