Cliff and Cyndi met June 13, 1970, while Cliff was stationed aboard the USS Cowell in the United States Navy. Cyndi, 17, lived in Portland, Oregon at the time. While celebrating the Rose Festival Parade, Cyndi met her sailor, Cliff, 21, that would become her husband for life.
