The Delta County Fair Board is looking for young ladies between the ages of 9-19 who would like to represent Delta County for the next year. The royalty will promote Delta County Fair and help with fair activities. They will also travel throughout the state of Colorado representing the fair.
While spreading goodwill for the Delta County Fair and Rodeo, the queen, princess and junior princess will be garnering the richest experience of their lives and laying the foundation for their future. The young women who want to be leaders in their community and further promote the western way of life are the girls we are looking for within our area. They are role models to exemplify to the youth of the community what can be accomplished in the western environment.
The Delta County Fair and Rodeo royalty serve as ambassadors of Delta County to the general public, portraying excellence in sportsmanship, high moral and ethical character, and reflect careful treatment of animals. They must understand the aspects of county fair, appreciate Delta County, and the general public. Applicants must be enrolled in a Delta County School or a resident of Delta County.
There will be an interest meeting on Friday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Maloney House located on the Delta County Fairgrounds. If you are interested please contact Teresa Burns, royalty coordinator at 970-270-4493. Applications for the 2019-2020 royalty contest are due June 7.
On May 1, the Cedaredge board of trustees met for a special meeting to appropriate an additional $35,000 from reserves as a loan to the golf course fund.
These funds will be used to purchased a used turf utility vehicle, a spray rig, and to make improvements to the kitchen and dining area of the restaurant.
