Hotchkiss senior cross country runner Sam Rodriguez had his best finish of his career Friday after placing second at the Ouray-Ridgway Ramble at the Reservoir. Rodriguez's 20 minutes, 54 seconds time was just over four seconds off the winning time of 19:56.11, run by Ouray junior Cooper Rondinelli.
Ron MacKendrick completed his first wood turning project 58 years ago in a shop class at Hotchkiss High School.
