Bruin tracksters in top 10 at Montrose

The Cedaredge Bruins were participants at last weekend's Montrose Invitational. Glenwood Springs won the 22-team field in the boys' division with 133 points and Cedaredge finished sixth with 44 points.

Delta clinches 3A WSL

The Delta Panthers played in three games this past week and won all three to move to 8-0 in 3A WSL play and 12-6 overall. More importantly the Panthers won their third straight league title with their 10-0 win over Aspen on Friday of last week.

Delta track teams finish fourth and fifth

Delta's girls and boys scored in the top five at last weekend's Montrose Invitational track meet. The girls placed fourth with 68 points in a field of 23 teams.

Paonia's 3200m relay teams dominate race

The Paonia girls 3200 relay team of Randi Rapke, Poppy Lightfoot, Brooke Hillman and Tawny Roberts dominated at Montrose.

At the race's first exchange, Lightfoot was a close third and a few meters back from Olathe and Crested Butte when she handed the baton to freshman Tawny Roberts.

Paonia, Hotchkiss split DH; 'Dogs earn conference win

Just who will come out on top in Class 2A District 3/5 baseball remains a mystery after the two top teams in the district split a doubleheader last week. On Thursday, Hotchkiss won game one of the series, beating Paonia on its home turf by a single run.
