The Western Slope is getting ready for Western Slope Conservation Center's 18th annual River Fest on Saturday, June 2. This year, the Conservation Center is celebrating Paonia River Park and the greater North Fork watershed with a day-long, family-friendly festival.
Over the next week or so, local property owners will receive a notice of public hearings to be held in regard to the service plan for a proposed North Fork Ambulance Health Service District. Town of Paonia garbage customers will see an increase in their monthly bill beginning in June.
The increase comes after trustees formally adopted a resolution establishing garbage rates and charges at the May 21 meeting.
The Paonia Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. today to consider submitting written comments to the Bureau of Land Management regarding preliminary environmental assessment on the North Fork Mancos Master Development Plan.
