Four Bulldogs on 2018 all-state baseball team

Four Hotchkiss Bulldog baseball players were named all-state players by the Colorado High School Activities Association. Jonathan Gonzalez received All-State First Team honors.

Post-season baseball honors doled out in 3A

The 2018 Western Slope All-League baseball honors were released recently. Delta, the 3A WSL champion, landed six athletes on the 23-member first-team roster with one other player earning honorable mention honors. Cedaredge garnered four first-team selections and landed one honorable mention player.

Seriani, Miller, CHSAA player, coach of year

For the second consecutive year, Paonia pitcher Kaden Seriani was named Class 2A baseball player of the year by the Colorado High School Activities Association. Seriani, who made the CHSAA first team three consecutive years, batted .600 for the season and was second in home runs regardless of class with 13. At the plate Seriani had an ERA of 0.84.

Skills Challenge a hit

This year's turnout for the annual Rockies' Skills Challenge, hosted at Bill Heddles Recreation Center, was the biggest its been in some time. Assistant Bill Heddles Recreation Director Tyler Schumacker announced this year's participants included 75 youngsters ranging in age from six to 13 years old.
