Atchley leads Delta girls in Hotchkiss race

Beki Atchley led the Delta girls to place eighth at Hotchkiss with a time of 24 minutes, 48.66 seconds. It was Atchley's third consecutive top-10 finish at Hotchkiss.

Bartlett takes second at Hotchkiss meet

Paonia senior cross country runner Ethan Bartlett continues to shatter his own records. Bartlett took second Saturday at the annual Hotchkiss Invitational, behind Montrose junior Sean Graff.

A near-packed house enjoyed an absolutely beautiful evening for football last Friday. The Hotchkiss Bulldogs were bidding for a second straight win in the 2018 football season against the visiting Coal Ridge Titans.

Delta races past Palisade in softball

Delta High School dominated a visiting Palisade Bulldogs' softball team in a doubleheader sweep Sept. 4 by scores of 13-3 and 14-4.

Sophomore Hailee Ruble went the distance for Delta and improved her season record to 4-1 with the win.

Delta stumbles on gridiron

After digging themselves into a first-half hole, Delta's Panthers won the second half but had too much to overcome in a 28-22 loss in Salida last Friday night.

The Panthers trailed 15-6 at halftime with a Felipe Bedoy's 40-yard field goal in the third quarter one of the game's highlights for Delta.

Keller, Egging lead Bulldog XC runners

Tevin Keller led the Hotchkiss boys at the team's home invitational meet Saturday. Keller placed 17th with a time of 21:10.08.

Schwieterman, Paonia girls win Hotchkiss XC

At Saturday's Hotchkiss Invitational meet, the Paonia girls owned the course. Three Eagles finished in the top 10 to win the meet with 12 points.

Women, and several husbands, continued the legacy of Orchard City Women's Club's first Friday of the month meeting on Friday, Sept. 7.

They met in the community room of Orchard City Town Hall where speaker Jason Cleckler, CEO of Delta County Memorial Hospital, talked with his audience about new services and new staffing at DCMH, and nationwide recognition the hospital has received over the past three years.

FFA members make memories at D.C. leadership conference

The week of July 17-22, four of us from our chapter had the incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for a national leadership conference. There were 340 of us from all over the country, even Alaska! Some states had a few dozen students and others had very few.

Paonia rally shines spotlight on climate change

The sounds of music floated through Paonia Park on Saturday. Guitar, flute, even trumpets and trombones interspersed speeches and poems on climate change and the ecological concerns of North Fork residents.
