Health exhibit leaves Delta Library

A traveling, bilingual exhibition called Discover Health is leaving Delta County after three months on display at Delta Library. "Overall, the exhibit was a great success," says Adriana Chavira, Delta Library manager.



Delta teams win FCNB titles

Another pre-season has come and gone for Delta County basketball teams. This year's winners, in the third annual First Colorado National Bank tournament, were both the Delta boys and girls teams.

The third annual First Colorado National Bank tournament title concluded Dec. 22. Delta won titles in both the girls and boys divisions with Hotchkiss claiming consolation honors in the girls division and Cedaredge in the boys.

Cooking elective concludes with beef cook-off at HK-8

On Dec. 13, the Black Mesa CattleWomen sponsored the second quarter beef cook-off for the Hotchkiss K-8 middle school cooking class taught by Terri Bear and Glenda Young. The students learned about beef, basic nutrition, safe food preparation, and presentation.

Planning for when growth comes knocking

Community band draws a crowd for Christmas concert

The Cedaredge Community Band, affectionately known as "The Grady Bunch," presented a Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 16, at True Life Church in Cedaredge. Admission was free with attendees encouraged to bring non-perishable food for the food bank.

Holiday dinner raises scholarship funds

On Christmas Day, members of the Cedaredge Rotary Club and other volunteers prepared a free Christmas dinner for over 300 people. The meal, served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., consisted of turkey, ham, and all the trimmings.
