The Bank of Colorado has donated $10,000 to support the Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center (GMAEC) in Cedaredge. Kacy Stillings, the bank's market president, presented a check to Cindy Starr, secretary of the GMAEC board. Describing the bank's decision, Stillings said, "Community is a core value for our company. The communities that we live and work in are our key focus. It is more important than ever to support them, and we will continue to participate, volunteer and help them to grow."
In addition to its generous donation, the bank has agreed to match all contributions to GMAEC made by other donors during the month of January, up to another $5,000.
GMAEC is currently renovating a building in downtown Cedaredge which the nonprofit organization hopes to have ready for performances by June 2018. Tax-deductible contributions can be made online at grandmesaartscenter.com or by mail to GMAEC, PO Box 583, Cedaredge, CO 81413.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
