The Blue Sage Concert Series is pleased to present a Baroque Music Festival weekend Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, with concerts at 7:30 p.m. featuring harpsichordist Jory Vinikour and viola da gambist Ann Marie Morgan performing at Paonia's Blue Sage Center for the Arts as part of the center's 2016-17 music series.
At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, enjoy a performance of J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations with Grammy-nominated harpsichordist Jory Vinikour. The concert Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. features duos for viola da gamba and harpsichord with gambist Ann Marie Morgan. A champagne brunch with the musicians and an opportunity to view the period instruments up close will be served on Saturday afternoon presented by local chef Ellen Hutto, with locally sourced North Fork Valley food.
Series artistic director Susan Ellinger comments, "We are very lucky to have this opportunity to bring such highly regarded early music experts to our small community. Not only do Jory and Ann Marie bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their musical practices, they are also highly regarded and extremely in demand as performers. So, we are quite fortunate to have them on the series lineup, and I'm looking forward to a rarefied musical experience in the intimate performance space of the Blue Sage's Curtis Hall."
Brunch ($25) and concert tickets ($13-23) are available at the Blue Sage Gallery located at 226 Grand Avenue in Paonia, by calling 527-7243, or online at blue
