Delta scored 121.5 points to place fifth at its own Panther Invitational Wrestling Tournament.
Delta sent three into the championship match. Aiden Barrios went undefeated to claim the title at 170 pounds. The top seed, Barrios, won the championship match by a 10-6 decision over the tournament's number-two seeded wrestler, Jace Peebles (7-1) of Hotchkiss.
At 126, Ben Koch pinned his first two opponents, Ethan White of Paonia and Hector DelaCruz of Grand Valley, in a total time of 2:54. His only loss, a 3:31 fall, was to defending state champion Trey Geyer of Cedaredge.
At 195, junior Gauge Lockhart was runner-up on an 11-2 MD loss to Anthony Felice of Paonia.
At 160, Jeffrey Griffith was seeded 12th and placed third. His only loss came in quarterfinals on a 7-1 decision to Cedaredge's Austin Crawford.
Griffith then won four straight consolation matches, including a 52-second fall over Coal Ridge, a 17-0 technical fall win over Florence, and a 13-0 major decision over Dax Sheridan of Meeker in semifinals. In consolation finals, the fifth match of the day for both wrestlers, Griffith pinned Crawford in 38 seconds.
At 220, Eli Miramontes placed fifth; and Ku Htoo (106, 5-5), Nicole Koch (120, 3-2) and Timothy Horn (145, 1-3) placed sixth.
