Cedaredge needed to keep on pace to be a part of the top tier in 3A WSL baseball.
The Bruins remained in third place (3-2, 9-5) after splitting with Delta and Roaring Fork last week.
Delta scored eight runs in two innings to break open the game and eventually claim a 12-1 3A WSL decision. Cedaredge used early-inning scoring to build a lead and its defense kept the Rams from finding home plate in an 8-0 win in WSL play.
Cedaredge wasted little time in establishing themselves as a dominant force against the Rams (2-3, 5-8) in a game played in Carbondale. Two runs in the second and another pair in the third had the Bruins going in the right direction.
The Bruins took the fourth inning off before doubling the score with four runs in the fifth inning to complete scoring in the game.
Jacob Lewis improved to 4-0 with the win for Cedaredge. Lewis worked seven innings, allowed five hits, no runs, walked three and struck out six.
Roaring Fork's offense was paced by Dawson Kuhl's double in a 1-3 day at the plate.
Cedaredge's Jacob Lewis had plenty to say with his own offensive production. He was 3-3, scored one run, had a double and three RBIs. Two-hit days went to Tre Labossiere and Pedro Madaleno, with each hitting doubles.
