A stout Meeker football team showed an unbreakable defense and added to the evening's rain-soaked misery with a shower of its own to the tune of 34-0 decision over the Bruins last Friday night.
With the loss, Cedaredge slipped to 0-2 in the 2A WSL and finished the week with a 2-4 overall record for 2018.
Meeker (1A WSL) upped its overall season record to 3-2 with the win and sits in second place behind league-leading Paonia (2-0 and 4-2). The Cowboys are also 2-0 in league play and will host the Eagles this Friday in Meeker with starting time set for 7 p.m.
Meeker had a passing game which accounted for 241 yards of offense on a 15 of 18 day from quarterback Ryan Phelan accounting for three touchdowns for the visiting Cowboys.
In the rushing department, the Cowboys added another 147 yards of offense and two touchdowns in the shutout win.
Meeker lost one fumble during the rainy encounter while the Bruins coughed the ball up three times.
Cedaredge travels to Parachute this week where it takes on Grand Valley in a 7 p.m. contest.
The Cardinals are currently in fourth place with a 1-1 league mark and 2-4 overall.
