The Cedaredge Bruins won two titles and scored 100 points to place fourth at the 14-team Butch Melton Memorial Invitational at Ignacio High School. Aztec, N.M. won the tournament crown with 209 points.

Junior Sean Dale (132, 25-2) won gold on a 4-3 decision over Garrett Birzer of Aztec, N.M. (33-8). Also going undefeated, Taj Van der Linde (28-5) won all four matches by fall, ending the tournament on a fall (4:00) over 28-3 Daniel Westbrook of 3A Bayfield.

Heavyweight Derek Sanchez (29-8) placed second. Sanchez won four of his five matches by fall in a total mat time of two minutes. His only loss was by fall (1:06) in round four to Dante Norberto of Farmington, N.M.

Austin Crawford (152, 18-15) was seeded eighth placed third, Ty Walck (138) and Toby Waddell (170) placed fourth

Wrestling at 106, Lane Husnberger (23-14) was seeded ninth and placed fifth. Adrian Nieto (126, 12-10) and Brian Hoerr (145, 10-15) placed fifth, and AJ Robidoux (138) placed sixth

Cedaredge won 22 matches by pin. The tournament was wrestled under scramble and round robin bracket formats.

At Friday's Center Duals, Cedaredge lost to Aztec, N.M., 57-18. Lucas Hoerr (113) and Van der Linde won matches by fall, and Sanchez won by forfeit.
