The issue of whether to require businesses within the town of Paonia to be licensed will again come before town trustees at the regularly scheduled July 9 town board meeting. The town's governmental affairs committee considered the possibility of licensing businesses and sought direction from the board. Following public discussions on the subject at the May 28 and June 11 board meetings, trustees directed town administrator Ken Knight to draft a business license ordinance for the trustees' consideration. That draft will be presented to board at the meeting, according to Knight. Town staff anticipates this will be a discussion item.
