Once again this year the women of the Cedar Mesa Community Club will be serving up their popular breakfast burritos, baked goods, burgers and brats at the Pioneer Town Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 6, during Cedaredge's Applefest celebration.

The club ladies are famous for their delicious muffins, brownies, turnovers, cookies, pies, and breads, not to mention their breakfast burritos. All of these, plus hot coffee, will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. adjacent to the Indian Museum in Pioneer Town. The hot and yummy and ever-popular breakfast burritos will be available all morning, or until they're gone.

At 11:30 they'll fire up the grill to offer lunch of hamburgers or bratwurst and all the fixin's, along with pop, water, chips, and cookies. Lunch will be served from 11:30 until 1:30. The baked goods, coffee, pop and water will be for sale all day until the car show closes down for the awards program at 2:30.

The proceeds from sales at the Pioneer Town booth will help with the club's nonprofit activities as a 501(c) 3 organization. Throughout the year the club supports and donates to Surface Creek Community Services (local food bank), Friends of the Cedaredge Animal Shelter, Hilltop Domestic Violence Services, holiday food baskets, angel giving tree, community Christmas dinner, and other worthy charities, plus giving generous scholarships each spring to graduating high school students.

This year the club members are also raising money to renovate their little clubhouse on Peach Road. It was built in 1949 and has served its members and the Cedar Mesa community well, but is in sore need of some updating to better serve as a community gathering place. Members are in the process of searching for grants and benefactors to help with this project. At present there is a $100 match challenge on the table from one of the club's generous supporters, who is hoping that this will motivate others to step up to add to the building fund coffers. Donations may be sent to Cedar Mesa Community Club, PO Box 433, Cedaredge, CO 81413, and will be gratefully receipted.
