Community United Methodist Church in Cedaredge invites all who are interested to participate in any and all of the congregation's three weekly Bible studies during Lent. Two of the groups are studying "Making Sense of the Bible," a book by Adam Hamilton, pastor of United Methodism's largest congregation, Resurrection United Methodist Church in Kansas City. Each session begins with a video by Pastor Hamilton followed by discussion. Participants can attend at 10:30 a.m. Mondays at Community United Methodist Church or 6:30 p.m. at the home of Bev and Jack Gardner, 280 SW 11th Avenue, Cedaredge.
The third Bible study is the ongoing Men's Bible Study that meets at 8 a.m. Saturdays at Aspen Trails RV Park on Highway 65 north of downtown Cedaredge. Community UMC member Steve Countryman is leading the ecumenical group of men in a study of the Book of Revelation.
In addition, Community United Methodist Church is joining with All Saints Lutheran Church and Eckert Presbyterian Church for meals and prayer Wednesdays during Lent. All Saints Lutheran Church in Orchard City will be host for meals and services March 20 and April 10, and Eckert Presbyterian Church will be host March 27. The meals begin at 5:30 p.m. with worship from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
