When you think about the future of our community, what do you envision? What does Cedaredge look like in five or ten years? Business as usual? Slow and steady growth? An explosion of new entrepreneurial startups filling up the empty storefronts?
The Town of Cedaredge is forming an Economic Development Advisory Committee and is looking for citizens who want to shape and guide the economic future of Cedaredge.
"We're looking for dreamers and visionaries who love this community and who can think big and think outside the box," said Kami Collins, the economic development coordinator for the town. "If you are invested in the future of Cedaredge and want to serve your community in this capacity, we invite you to serve on the Economic Development Advisory Committee."
The committee will be comprised of 7-9 individuals who represent a diverse economic background. Committee members need not be a resident of the Town of Cedaredge (but must reside in the Surface Creek Valley). If interested in helping shape the future of Cedaredge, please send a brief statement of interest to Collins at email@example.com or stop by Town Hall at 235 W. Main Street to drop off your statement by March 15.
It can be simple: Tell us what you love about this community, why you want to help shape its future, and what skills or resources you can bring to the table. Kami can also be reached at 856-3123 ext. 112 for questions or more information.
On May 1, the Cedaredge board of trustees met for a special meeting to appropriate an additional $35,000 from reserves as a loan to the golf course fund.
These funds will be used to purchased a used turf utility vehicle, a spray rig, and to make improvements to the kitchen and dining area of the restaurant.
