The Cedaredge Town Board reviewed documents citing $131,575 in additional 2016 expenses for the golf course fund and restaurant operation at its meeting on Feb. 18.
Board members were also presented with a spreadsheet business plan outlining a budget for town operation of the golf course restaurant during 2016. And a final agreement with a commercial broker to market the restaurant business operations to long-term private operators was also presented.
Additional expenses over and above those already approved in the 2016 budget for the golf course fund and restaurant operation included the following items:
• Golf course clubhouse furnace, $2,500;
• Expenses for operating a food and beverage service, $125,147;
• Payment of outstanding invoices from the golf course restaurant's previous tenant, $1,442;
• Costs for town liquor license at the golf course restaurant, $1,875;
• Golf course restaurant property tax and "misc. fee," $742.
The amounts would require approval of a supplemental appropriation to the 2016 budget. The appropriation amount would bring the money appropriated to the golf course fund -- including the restaurant -- in 2016 to $558,500, according to documents presented to the town trustees last week.
The trustees also reviewed a spreadsheet document outlining town operation of Cedaredge Grill at the golf course for March through December. The spreadsheet details proposed expenses of $125,147 against anticipated revenues of $132,000 and projects a profit of $6,863.
The town restaurant operation as discussed at previous trustee meetings would provide light meal and beverage service for golfers. The board has also discussed using other local restaurants as concession suppliers for the food and beverage operation.
The town board was also presented with final agreements with Grand Mesa Commercial Real Estate for services to market the golf course restaurant operation and search for a private operator that would run the business long-term.
