It's Homecoming Week at Cedaredge High School, with dress-up days scheduled each day. There will also be lots of opportunities to cheer on the Bruins' varsity/junior varsity softball, volleyball and football teams.
Competition will be just as keen when classmates face off in peach fuzz volleyball Wednesday at 7 p.m., and powder puff football Thursday at 8 p.m.
The schedule will include a parade along Main Street at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28. That same day, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. the CHS Future Farmers of America "Taste of Ag" tailgate party will be held at the high school. The all-you-can-eat menu includes beef brisket, leg of lamb, roast pork, baked beans, corn on the cob, dinner rolls, fresh fruit and ice cream. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for elementary students.
The varsity football faces the Olathe Pirates at 7 p.m. Friday night. Halftime festivities will include coronation of Homecoming royalty and a marching band field show.
The traditional bonfire celebration has been rescheduled from Thursday, Sept. 27, to Friday night following the football game. The Homecoming dance will take place as scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 p.m. to midnight.
