Charles Beauchamp died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at his home in Hotchkiss. He was 76.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Charles Edward Beauchamp was born in Stroud, Okla., March 5, 1940, to Newel and Velma (Eldredge) Beauchamp. He spent his childhood and attended school in Stroud. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Navy and served his country from 1959 through 1963.
On Sept. 19, 1960, he married Peggy Jo Snyder in Burbank, Calif.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, archery hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Beauchamp; two sons, Mark (Sally) Beauchamp and Gary (Kelly) Beauchamp; two brothers, Paul (Doris) Beauchamp and David Beauchamp; two sisters, Marlene Patrick and Carol Lovato-Joyner; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Swift.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
