The Cedaredge boys are near the middle of the standings in 2A District 5 play with a 2-0 league mark and 5-3 overall.
Last week's games were against Meeker and Rangely. The Bruins knocked off Meeker, 60-45, and slipped past Rangely, 48-41.
Bruins 60, Meeker 45
Cedaredge led by four after one period and owned a 31-21 advantage at halftime.
The 10-point difference stayed the same after three periods of play with each team scoring 11 points in the third quarter.
An 18-13 run by Cedaredge in the fourth quarter produced the game's final score of 60-45.
Shane Gates topped Cedaredge scorers with 18 points and Chris Lindley added another 15 on five shots from beyond the 3-point arc. Christian Reynolds gave the Bruins three players in double figure scoring with another 12 points.
Bruins 48, Rangely 41
Rangely, just below the Bruins in league standings, 1-1 and 3-3, tried to answer Cedaredge's scoring but ran out of time as the Bruins built a 39-25 lead over three periods of play.
Rangely threw a scare into the Bruins with a 16-9 fourth-quarter run that fell short.
Reynolds led the Bruins in scoring with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Garrett Meyers had 10 points for the winners.
The Bruins are on the road against Plateau Valley on Jan. 15 with game-time set for 7 p.m. On Saturday, Cedaredge is at Caprock Academy for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff.
Cedaredge hosts Hotchkiss on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
