Central's Kat Geisler defeated Clarity Call, 6-1 and 6-1, in 1 Singles action; Akaycia Berger gave the Warriors a second win at 2 Singles with a 6-2 and 6-1 win over Cedaredge's Samantha Ribbens and Victoria Gabardi defeated Cedaredge's Sarah Tullis, 6-0 and 6-1, in 3 Singles play.
Cedaredge's 1 Doubles team of Addison Schwarz and Niala Stair won its match against Georgia Swelstad and Alivia Weiszbrod, 6-4 and 6-4. At 2 Doubles, Central's Jessica Stouder and Sara Barnes defeated Caitlyn Bowen and Olivia McCracken 6-1 and 6-4. The Bruins' Megan Branson and Payton Donahue lost their 3 Doubles match against Vanessa Wilson and Maddison Strychalski, 6-1 and 6-1.
The final match was a win for Cedaredge with the Bruins' 4 Doubles team of Niala Stair and Daizy McCarty needing three sets to get past Kerri Bench and Julia Trujillo 4-6, 6-4, 0-0 (10-6).
Aspen leads the nine-team 3A Region 8 tennis standings with a 1-1 overall and a 1-0 league mark. Cedaredge is third (1-6 and 1-4). Delta is fourth (1-2 and 0-1).
Cedaredge plays at Vail Mountain (Vail) on April 11 at 4 p.m. and is back in Grand Junction to face the Tigers on April 13 at 3:30 p.m.
A matchup against Paonia awaits the Bruins on April 18 at Bill Heddles Recreation Center at 4 p.m.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
