For Delta senior Logan Church the third time might be the charm. Church attended the national high school championships in the past and was runner-up last year.
This year's venue is Virginia Beach with planned activities scheduled for March 22-25.
Registration and weigh-ins will be conducted March 22 with a mandatory coaches meeting set for 8 p.m.
Wrestling begins on March 23 in four divisions; freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.
Wrestling clinics are available on March 23 and 24 with quarterfinals and semifinals for all high school divisions set for 12 noon and 4:30 p.m. on March 24.
Medal matches for third, fifth and seventh places begin 8 a.m. March 25 with finals beginning at 11 a.m.
A special round has been added this year noted Delta High School coach Clayton Curtis. The winner of each division may challenge the next higher division's champion for bragging rights of lower grade classifications while junior and senior classification winners have the same opportunities. Those matches are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Curtis noted there may be as many 60-80 mats available for the national competition with as many as 140 competitors in a division (less in heavyweight, around 70).
Curtis, and assistant Luis Meza, will accompany Church and plans are to leave on Thursday morning for the journey to Virginia Beach.
