During constituent time at their Jan. 22 meeting, Delta City Council members were urged to make safety improvements to Highway 92 sooner, rather than later, to avoid the possibility of another accident like the one that took place at the Maverik on Jan. 10. The accident involved five vehicles. Three parties were transported to the hospital, including the wife of the citizen who urged council to act. Council members agreed to ask the Colorado Department of Transportation to implement an access control plan that was developed with the future in mind. "We shouldn't wait for another accident," said council member Gerald Roberts.
