Officer Cody Hammon will soon be moving into the investigations division of the Delta Police Department, once the department's two new officers are out of field training.
Officer Hammon has been employed by the Delta Police Department since March 2014. He is the police department's defensive tactics instructor as well as a field training officer.
He has been trained in the use of less lethal devices including pepper/OC spray, less than lethal munitions, chemical agents designed to discomfort a suspect, but not harm them, and distraction devices (flash bangs). This course was offered at the Flat Rock Training Facility in Adams County.
He also completed a 40-hour "Train the Trainer" class through the Grand Junction Police Department. This five-day class is designed for police officers who are instructors in any one skill or subject related to law enforcement.
