Milton "Corkey" J. Wyman of Eckert died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 79.
Services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Wyman was born in Oakland, Calif., July 10, 1936, to Arthur and Agnes (Holmes) Wyman. He spent his childhood in Newark, Calif., and graduated from Washington High School in 1954. After high school he joined the U.S. Army.
On Aug. 1, 1964, he married Patricia Ma-lone in Reno, Nev. They lived in Hayward, Calif., before moving to Eckert in 2000.
Mr. Wyman was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 713 in Hayward, Calif., and the Trap Club in Delta. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Wyman of Eckert; a son, Joseph Wyman of Livermore, Calif.; a granddaughter, Courtney Wyman of Incline Village, Nev.; a daughter-in-law, Robin Wyman of Livermore, Calif.; four sisters-in-law, Dixie Kendall and Jennie (John) Stroh, all of Hotchkiss, Barbara Ward of St. George, Utah, and Cindy (Aaron) Miller of Paonia; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Patterson of Hotchkiss.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Wyman.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
