This Friday the Town of Crawford, Crawford Town Council and Friends of Crawford Town Hall will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of the completion of renovation and historic preservation of the Town Hall building.
The building, located at 425 Highway 92, began in 1913 as the replacement structure for the original 1906 schoolhouse, which was destroyed by a fire. The school closed in the 1980s and since then has served as a community center, library, and its current incarnation as the town hall.
Cake and refreshments will be served, and tours of the facilities will be offered.
Festivities begin at 2 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for 3 p.m., at which time special recognition will be given to some of the people who made the project possible.
On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
