David Joseph Bond died Jan. 24, 2018, at his home in Delta. He was 53.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia.
Mr. Bond was born on Sept. 18, 1964, in Delta to Gilbert and Virginia (Stanfill) Bond. He spent his childhood in Paonia and moved to Delta 13 years ago.
He enjoyed magazines, going for rides, helping out at Aspen Crest and spending time with staff and residents at his group home.
He is survived by his brothers, George Bond of Delta and James Bond of Paonia; sisters, Marlene Hebel of Denver, Doris (Glen) Carmichael of Delta, Nancy (Miles) Hemstrom of Gresham Ore., and Dale Bond of Salem, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Zollinger.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
