During a short meeting July 10, Delta City Council members heard the results of the 2017 audit from Holscher, Mayberry & Company. The audit looked at the city's major funds -- General Fund, Parks and Rec Center Fund and the Citywide Capital Improvement Fund, and four major enterprise funds -- Municipal Light & Power Fund, Sewer Fund, Water Fund and Golf Course Fund. The unrestricted net position of the Golf Course Fund is in the red, at $28,000, but the other enterprise funds have healthy balances.

Overall, the city has reserves to cover three to four months of operations, which is on the low end but in the acceptable range.

It was noted city sales tax was up 3.62 percent in 2017, which provides a snapshot of the local economy. Overall the audit was "clean" and generated few questions from council members.

Street closure permits were approved for the Deltarado Days parade on July 28, and the Parade of Lights on Friday, Nov. 23. Main Street will be closed from approximately 8 to 11:30 a.m. for the Deltarado Days parade.
