Delta High School's cross country season came to an end with the running of last weekend's State Cross Country Meet in Colorado Springs.
The Panthers had two runners who competed in this year's race. Junior John Ames was Delta's top runner with his 33rd-place finish in a time of 17:23.4. Sophomore teammate Shad Lewis finished in a time of 18:39.8 and placed 122nd.
There were 160 competitors in this year's state boys competition.
Classical Academy won the team title with its 82 points and was followed by second place Skyview Academy (118 points), third place Peak to Peak (146 points), fourth place Alamosa (147 points) and fifth place Frontier Academy (160 points).
Gunnison was eighth in the team race with 195 points and Olathe was 19th in this year's state cross country race.
Two of the four marijuana questions on the November ballot were narrowly approved by voters in the City of Delta. Measure 2F allows the establishment of medical marijuana centers. Measure 2H permits the establishment of medical marijuana cultivation, testing, research and manufacturing facilities.
