I'd like to thank the community of Delta for their show of love and compassion during a time of trial. My wife suffered a mild heart attack April 3 this year. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She had three stents inserted in her arteries and was home by the 4th. Then on the 8th she suffered blood clots putting her back in St. Mary's for two days. She is home recuperating now. The purpose of this letter is to thank all the people who came forward to help in both in helping with meals and things of that nature and of the cards and messages of love for my wife. She has a stack of "get well" cards and cherishes them greatly.
It is times such as these when people show their true natures. Helping here in Delta is the norm and when it occurs to those who are givers, when they become receivers, it is great. What goes around comes around as they say. Also, personal trials put worldly problems on the back burner. As important as they are, those you love take precedence. Thank all you who came forward. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention one person who seemed to take special interest in us. She is Denise from across the street. She should be on TV with her recipes. We love her dearly and suffice to say, we won't be having to cook for a few weeks at least. God bless you all.
