Delta High School soccer traveled to Vail Mountain on Oct. 9 to face the Gore Rangers. Luck wasn't with the Panthers this time, however, as they fell in defeat to Vail 1-0. The unusually high scoring Panthers were frustrated by the Gore Rangers and couldn't manage to find the back of the net on this occasion.
The weather in Vail no doubt played some role in freezing out the Panthers attack. With rain and temperatures hovering around 40 degrees, the players from Vail Mountain were in their element.
Junior 'keeper Felipe Bedoy was very active in goal. His performance was crucial in keeping the score down. Bedoy came up with eight saves in the match. Vail managed to slip a single goal in however. The second half strike from the Gore Rangers would start and finish the scoring in the game.
The Panthers own an impressive record of 8-3, going into their next match at home against the Coal Ridge Titans from New Castle. The Titans are going to be stiff competition and will come into the game at 4-1.
