The Palisade Bulldogs scored nine runs in the sixth inning for a non-conference 17-11 win Thursday. The Panthers had 14 hits and three errors in seven innings, while Palisade scored on 16 hits and two errors. Kolby Keller's one hit was also his homer of the season, and Eli Farmer was 4 for 5 with one HR (his second of the season) and four RBI. The defense committed three errors.
Pitcher Andrew Baier allowed three hits and four earned runs, walked four and struck out five in 3.1 innings; Farmer allowed five hits and five earned runs with one K in 1.2 innings. Gauge Lockhart allowed seven hits and two earned runs and struck out one.
The Panthers start the week at No. 5 in state RPI standings. They are undefeated and in first place in the 3A WSL following Saturdays five-inning, 14-4 win over the Aspen Skiers. Lockhart was 2 for 3 with one 2B and one sacrifice hit, and Rowyn Carmichael went 2 for 4 including his fourth HR of the season.
Carmichael was awarded the win, allowing three hits, two earned runs and throwing three K in two innings. Ryan Cooper allowed two hits, walked one and struck out seven in three innings.
