The MOD Squad -- comprised of disc golfers from Montrose, Olathe and Delta -- was instrumental in helping the City of Delta create an 18-hole disc golf course in Confluence Park. That group has now transitioned into the Delta County Disc Golf Revolution.
Recently, club members pitched in to clean up fallen branches and downed limbs to create 18 new greens in Confluence Park. Club president Patrick Winner explains the club is creating 18 alternate positions for existing holes, to facilitate big tournament rounds.
"This is pretty exciting, because the only club in the area that can currently do that is Palisade," he said.
He said the City of Delta has done a "fantastic job" cleaning up the area and helping with the installation of concrete tee boxes.
With more time to get the word out, Winner is hoping to see 40 to 50 participants in the second annual disc golf tournament.
"This is going to be an amazing event," Winner said. "If you are new to disc golf or have wanted to check it out please consider coming. I hope to see some new faces on the course!"
