March 24:

Nicholaus Michael Rung, 36, of Delta was given a verbal warning for the stop sign violation and issued a proof of service since his license returned suspended.

A burglary was reported at Sunset Storage, 667 Industrial Blvd. An officer took a report of burglary and theft allegedly occurring at 697 Industrial Blvd., Sunset Storage.

An officer responded to Highway 50 north at mile marker 68.99 for a single vehicle accident involving a horse. The vehicle driver was not injured.

March 25:

A vehicle was reported stolen from a residence in the 1400 block of Bluff Street.

Oscar Cerda Gomez, 39, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged harassment as an act of domestic violence.

A theft was reported at a residence in the 600 block of Dodge.

An officer responded to a fire in the area of 9th and B streets. The fire was isolated to a tree and had already been extinguished.

Officers responded to the intersection of Grand Avenue and E. 11th Street for a two vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. Robert Clinton Shilts, 25, of Montrose was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way from a stop sign and drove motor vehicle while license revoked.

An officer responded to the area of Highway 50 and 1600 Road for an abandoned vehicle in the median/center turn lane. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the owner was notified.

March 26:

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Meeker Street on a report of a damaged vehicle parked at the curb with a female in the passenger seat. Rhonda Adela Gonzales, 50, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, violation of bail bond conditions and violation of a protection order.

Code enforcement followed up on notices of violation for weeds/keeping of junk at multiple residences in the city.

March 27:

An officer responded to Taco Time on a report of fraud by passing counterfeit currency.

A theft was reported at a business in the 1500 block of Highway 50.

Code enforcement issued a warning to a dog owner for two dogs running at large and city animal license required after the dogs were seen in multiple locations throughout the day. One dog was caught and taken to TAILS for the owner to pick up.

March 28:

Businesses in the 1400 block of Highway 50 reported suspicious activity, trespass, theft and criminal mischief.

Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. 10th Street on a report of a fire. No injuries were reported or observed. The fire was extinguished prior to police arrival and was isolated to an area in the yard causing damage.

A theft was reported at a residence in the 1700 block of Caribou Street.

Property damage was reported from an alleged hit and run traffic accident in the 300 block of E. 3rd Street.

An officer took a report of a stolen bicycle from the 500 block of Sloan Street.

Tyler Montana White-O'Neal, 24, of Delta was arrested and jailed on three warrants each with a $500 bond.

Sebastian Alberto Soto, 19, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.

March 29:

Mathew Charles Tate, 55, of Cedaredge was issued a ticket for alleged third degree trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia. John Holland, 59, of Hotchkiss was issued a no trespass notification.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of A Street on a report of a single vehicle accident. A school bus had crashed into a fence. No injuries were reported or observed. The driver of the bus was transported by Delta County Ambulance to Delta County Memorial Hospital for an unknown medical reason. Seventeen students were on the bus at the time. They were evacuated and taken into Lincoln Elementary School where parent /guardians were notified to pick them up.

March 30:

Officers responded to the 600 block of W. 4th Street on a report of a single vehicle accident. A 16-year-old male driver out of Cedaredge was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving after the vehicle he was allegedly driving went over the embankment and almost into the river. No injuries were reported or observed. The vehicle was towed from scene.

An officer responded to Safeway on a report of shoplifting.

Rhonda Lou Kilcoyne, 55, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting at Walmart.

Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. 10th Street on a report of possible restraining order violation. Jacob Glen Jones, 33, of Delta was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $4,000 in bonds.

Khyrsten Miranda Springer, 28, of Cedaredge was issued a ticket for alleged obstructing a peace officer and false reporting to authorities.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Main Street on a 911 call of a male pointing a gun at another male. Joseph Robert Chavez, 28, of Grand Junction was arrested and jailed for alleged first degree burglary (three counts), menacing, criminal attempt, violation of a protection order, theft and criminal mischief.

An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Hastings for a possible restraining order violation.

An officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Maple Way to assist with a person having a medical emergency.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

March 24:

At about 9 a.m., deputies responded to a one-vehicle non-injury accident on Highway 65, mile marker 17.

March 26:

Deputies responded to an address on Ute Trail Road, Cedaredge, to take a report on tires and rims stolen off a vehicle.

A package found on 3100 Road, Hotchkiss, was returned to the carrier who had lost it.

Deputies responded to an address on Hillcrest Road, Eckert, to check the welfare of a woman reported to be out of control.

The sheriff's office took a report of cows missing from the Leroux Creek area.

At 11:15 p.m., deputies responded to an address on NW Sage Avenue, Cedaredge, for a fight involving multiple individuals and the possible use of weapons. All parties were intoxicated and separated for the night with no charges being filed.

March 27:

The K-9 officer team visited the residents at Horizons Care Center.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on East Ridge Road, Cedaredge, involving a mother and daughter. The two had separated.

Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle on Highway 50, mile post 54. Contact was made with the vehicle, but there was not sufficient information for an arrest.

March 28:

An investigation has been opened into a possible incident of elder abuse at a Paonia address.

Deputies, along with an officer of the Delta Police Department, arrested Jonathan Andrew Lopez, 32, near the intersection of W. 7th Street and Silver Street on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Deputies responded to a Paonia area residence for a suspicious medical incident.

Rhonda Gonzales, a homeless woman from Delta, was arrested for assaulting an officer at the Delta County Jail while in custody.

Two dogs running at large and reported to be vicious were reported on Simmental Road, Delta. Deputies were not able to contact the owner of the dogs.

March 29:

A Delta pawn shop ran the serial number for a firearm that came back as possibly stolen from a Hotchkiss area residence. The sheriff's office is investigating.

The sheriff's office opened an investigation into a possible sexual assault on a child.

At about 6:30 p.m., deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a possible DUI driver at Highway 50, mile marker 78.

At about 8 p.m., deputies responded to Highway 50, mile marker 64, for a two-vehicle accident. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.

March 30:

At about 11:30 a.m., the sheriff's office was notified about an infant male walking down the middle of the road near the address of 43737 Minnesota Creek Road. The 2-year-old was returned to his residence.

Sheriff's deputies and Delta County Search and Rescue responded to a report of a snowmobile accident on Grand Mesa. A 30-year-old man was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital to be treated for injuries he suffered when he reportedly ran into a tree.

Deputies spoke with a Hotchkiss area woman who said she had been threatened by unknown parties via text message.

Deputies assisted the Cedaredge Police Department with a domestic violence incident on W. Main Street. One male party was taken into custody.
