Feb. 10:

Officers responded to Maverik on a report of possible drug violation. Enrique Cano-Zuniga, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Luke Aaron Frazier, 19, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and violation of bail bond conditions. Frazier was also issued a ticket for alleged driving while license cancelled/denied and defective vehicle-tail lamps required.

Feb. 11:

An officer responded to 6th and Meeker streets for a two-vehicle accident. Juan Lizaldi Gonzalez, 75, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving. No injuries were reported or observed.

Benjamin Brent Davis, 31, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.

An officer responded to Maverik on a report of a person attempting to use a counterfeit $100 dollar bill in the store.

As a result of a traffic stop, Derek Ross Bate, 18, of Hotchkiss was issued a ticket for alleged speeding and illegal possession/consumption of marijuana by an underage person.

Code enforcement issued a ticket to Kenneth Floyd Burkdoll, 28, of Delta for alleged nuisance animal and city animal license required (x2).

Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Meeker Street on a report of an assault. Ashley Nicole Groda, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Feb. 12:

An officer responded to 1430 Highway 50 on a report of a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

An officer responded to Round Up Club Arena on a report of criminal mischief.

A theft was reported at Needle Rock Brewery.

Feb. 13:

A two-vehicle accident was reported at Salvation Army. Kevin D. Jordan, 41, of Orchard City was issued a ticket for alleged unsafe backing. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Main Street on a report of a disturbance. Lyle David Nitzel, 46, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged disorderly conduct and failure to verify location as a registered sex offender.

Isaac Jacob Gallegos, 27, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.

Feb. 14:

Code enforcement responded to E. 9th Street and Hastings Street on a report of four dogs running loose and creating a traffic hazard. The dogs were caught and returned home with a verbal warning.

Officers responded to Confluence Drive and Highway 348 on a report of a two-vehicle accident. Lacey Reya Gray, 32, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.

An officer responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue on a report of theft and littering.

An officer responded to Walmart on a report of a counterfeit $100 bill.

Gerald Mark Simpson, 63, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,000 bond.

Joshua E. S. Smith, 24, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting at City Market.

Officers responded to Walmart on a 911 call for a vehicle on fire. A bystander had already used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. Delta Fire Department responded.

Feb. 15:

An officer responded to Lincoln Elementary School, to follow up on a Safe2Tell report.

Benjamin Brent Davis, 31, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $5,000 bond.

Troy Martin Messano, 52, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.

Feb. 16:

Officers responded to 152 Main Street on a report of criminal mischief. A large window was broken. Another business in the 400 block of Main Street also reported a broken window.

Nicholas Joshua Sean Danyluk, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed for allegedly displaying fictitious license plates, theft of license plates, driving with a suspended license and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin).

Officers responded to a disturbance at Bill Heddles Recreation Center. A 12-year-old female of Delta was arrested and jailed (at Grand Mesa Youth Services) for alleged menacing (a class 5 felony offense).

A burglary was reported at a residence in the 200 block of Columbia.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having a broken tail lamp (illuminating white light). The driver was given a verbal warning for the tail lamp violation. Tresa Elaine Wright, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and first degree introduction of contraband. Bryan Joseph Dean, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Jennifer Lynn Wieben, 53, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Jessica Dawn Prisbrey, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Feb. 17:

An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Grand Avenue on a report of suspicious activity and found property.

A purse was reported stolen from a shopping cart in a parking lot.

Feb. 18:

An officer responded to Advanced Hearing, 2050 S. Main Street, for criminal mischief.

Oxygen Plus, 1410 Valley View Drive, reported an attempted theft.

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of W. 1st Street. The driver ran from the vehicle.

A hit-and-run accident was reported at Delta Ace Hardware. The hit vehicle was parked and unattended.

Feb. 19:

Code enforcement responded to the 800 block of 1575 Road on a report of dogs running loose. James Billy Williams, Jr., 52, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged dog running at large prohibited (x2) and city animal license required (x2).

Feb. 20:

Code enforcement issued a written warning at a residence in the 1000 block of Meeker Street for alleged keeping of junk.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1600 block of H-38 Road.

Code enforcement impounded a brown, older adult female hound type dog from the area E. 10th Street and Grand Avenue.

Feb. 21:

Officers responded to 1325 Highway 50, Grand Mesa Motor Sports, for an audible alarm. The building was broken into and a black and orange Polaris side by side was driven from the scene.

Alan Scott Hawk, Jr., 34, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $1,100 in bonds.

Feb. 22:

An officer responded to Tara's, 341 Main Street, on a report of criminal mischief. Graffiti (spray paint) was found on the building in the alley.

Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of W. 4th Street for an alleged overdose.

Skye Lorel Colburn-Erickson, 20, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,500 bond.

Jacob William Wells, 22, of Durango was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $250 bond.

Feb. 23:

An officer took a report of a runaway juvenile.

Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Columbia on a report of trespass.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Leon Street.

Officers responded to Abraham Connection, 480 Silver Street, to assist with an adult male who was having a medical emergency.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Feb. 19:

While on routine patrol, a deputy discovered graffiti (blue paint) on surfaces at the Escalante State Wildlife Area overlook west of Delta.

Feb. 20:

Deputies responded to an alleged protection order violation at a residence on Timothy Road near Cedaredge. Deborah Cook was arrested and charged with violation of two no contact protection orders, four counts of bail bond conditions resisting arrest and obstruction. She is being held at the Delta County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Feb. 21:

At about 6:30 a.m., deputies responded to mile post 2 on Highway 348 to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a one-vehicle, no injury accident.

A short time later, deputies responded to an address on 2100 Road in Orchard City to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a one-vehicle, no injury accident.

As a result of a traffic stop in Hotchkiss, the K-9 unit was brought in to conduct an exterior air sniff around the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, items associated with the distribution of methamphetamine, a suspected meth pipe and prescription pills. A warrant for the female suspect will be obtained.

Feb. 22:

Deputies responded to the intersection of F Road and Highway 348 to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a one-vehicle accident that occurred at about 9:15 a.m.

Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a traffic accident on Highway 50 near G50 Road.

Feb. 23:

A Crawford area resident filed a complaint about multiple abandoned vehicles parked on Saddle Mountain Lane. The owner was given seven days to remove the vehicles.

A Cedaredge area resident reported the theft of license plates from an auto parked on Surface Creek Road.

Deputies responded to a Hotchkiss area address in response to possibly suicidal male. He was found to be in good health. Another male was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Feb. 24:

Deputies assisted the Hotchkiss Marshal's Office with a domestic incident. A female was charged with false imprisonment for refusing to allow a male acquaintance to leave the premises.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on 2100 Road. The two male parties were separated and advised the deputies they did not wish to pursue charges.

At about 5:40 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of 2100 Road and Austin Road for a one-vehicle rollover accident. An adult female was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital due to injuries sustained when she was ejected from the vehicle.

Deputies responded to Surface Creek Road, near the round corrals, for a welfare check.
