From the Delta Police Department:

June 1:

Kris A. Thomas, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a restraining order and harassment.

Larry D. Montgomery, 73, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged disregarded a stop sign after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at 1st and Palmer streets. One person reported minor injuries. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

June 2:

Anna P. Carver, 49, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Zachary A. Hooker, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total bond of $1,750.

Jose M. Salazar, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $300 bond.

June 4:

Brandon T. Gray, 29, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful acts (alcohol) and littering.

Carolyn C. Sukle, 36, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief.

Citations: Ten tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, five for speeding.

Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.

May 29:

The theft of a blue 2010 Ford Explorer was reported from an address on Sunridge Drive, Delta. A warrant has been issued for a former roommate, Julian "Dusty" Stafford, for aggravated motor vehicle theft.

The owner of a fishery outside of Hotchkiss found two males trespassing and fishing from his pond. The two juveniles were charged with possession of alcohol by underage persons after the fishery owner also provided photos of beer bottles left behind.

Deputies responded to the emergency room at Delta County Memorial Hospital, where they took a report of a rollover involving a side-by-side off-road vehicle. The accident occurred on Minnesota Creek Road near Paonia. No citations were issued.

May 30:

Deputies responded to a call of trespassers on Old Wagon Road near Delta. No suspects could be located.

The sheriff's office was contacted after a verbal argument between neighbors at a homeowners' meeting outside of Hotchkiss. No criminal activity occurred.

A complaint was received from a resident on H Road about a neighbor boy driving a four-wheeler onto his property and doing doughnuts.

May 31:

A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Bone Mesa and Back River roads around 6 p.m. Paonia firefighters and the North Fork ambulance also responded to the scene. Wendi Wilkerson, 43, of Crawford, possibly drifted into an oncoming lane and struck a car driven by Mariah Adams. Both were injured but not seriously. The Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation.

June 2:

A Crawford resident reported his tires had been slashed. He identified a suspect for the deputies.

A two-vehicle accident occurred near 9276 Highway 65, Austin. One vehicle was driven by Fletcher Kehmeier, the other by Jennifer Chlarson. There were no injuries. The Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation.

June 3:

Another incident of tires being slashed was reported in Crawford. This time, the female victim identified her ex-husband as a possible suspect.

June 4:

A fire was reported at 22200 Canal Street, Austin, at approximately 5:45 p.m. John Kuemmerlin was reportedly burning weeds when the fire spread to a homemade trailer used as a storage shed.

A single-vehicle accident occurred at 25 Mesa and 1200 Road, Delta, at about 9 p.m. The vehicle was driven by Ezra Gutierrez. A passenger was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The CSP is investigating.

June 5:

A garage and outbuilding at 33203 J80 Road, Hotchkiss, were destroyed by a fire that was reported at about 1 a.m. The Hotchkiss Fire District responded. The fire started in the garage and spread to a shed in which a tractor was stored. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to two nearby homes. No one was injured.

A fatal accident occurred near mile post 22, Highway 65, at about 6:30 a.m. A passing motorist reported the crash after he was flagged down by a Hispanic male. A second male was found inside the maroon 1996 GMC Yukon. He was unresponsive. The driver did not return to the scene, but may be a relative of the deceased individual. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating.

June 6:

Deputies responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital where Joseph Caldwell, the owner of the garage/outbuilding that burned on J80 Road, was being treated for a dog bite. He was bitten when he tried to break up a fight between his dog and a sheepdog, owner unknown. Deputies are attempting to locate the sheepdog's owner.
