May 11:

At 7:02 a.m., officers responded to a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) Report. Branden Ripp Walters, 28, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving and driving while ability impaired (DWAI) - Alcohol.

Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Palmer Street on a report of a possible intruder. Aaron Scott Morris, 29, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged second degree burglary, second degree criminal tampering and criminal mischief.

Linda Jo Howell, 68, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,000 bond.

An officer responded to a residence on a report of an injured juvenile. Jacklyn Amanda Stamper, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged second degree assault and child abuse.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of H Road on a report of a disturbance. Keenan Earl Bonine, 30, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged menacing and obstructing an officer.

May 13:

James Louis Huff, 57, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,500 bond.

A theft was reported at Delta Ace Hardware.

A missing person report was filed. The adult male was located by family members in another city.

Jessica Louise Sherrill, 33, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $400 bond.

Daniel Joseph Winter, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed on two warrants with a total of $3,500 in bonds.

A theft was reported at Bill Heddles Recreation Center.

May 14:

Officers responded to a single vehicle accident involving the barricade gate at the bottom of 9th Street Hill. Kristal Kay Kaiser, 30, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving and failure to present evidence of insurance. No injuries were reported or observed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Safety cones were set up to create a more visible barrier for the closure of the hill.

A large, fixed blade, Schrade knife was turned in and placed in evidence for the owner to claim.

May 15:

An officer responded to Lincoln Elementary School on a report of theft involving a juvenile. The allegedly stolen property was later returned to the owner.

Suspicious activity was reported at the Delta Library. An adult male was issued a trespass notice to not return to the library.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of H-38 Road on several complaints for various violations. Warnings were issued.

Officers responded to the 600 block of Howard Street for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. No ticket was issued. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Code enforcement responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital on a report of an animal bite.

May 16:

Jake Kramer Davis, 31, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $4,000 bond.

Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of W. 6th Street for a wanted person. Multiple people were contacted at the residence. Jake Kramer Davis, 31, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged resisting arrest, obstruction and trespass. Sarah Nicole Davis, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged accessory to a crime and obstruction. Jason Wayne Overholser, 50, of Delta was arrested and jailed or alleged accessory to a crime and obstruction. Alan Paul Harrison, 51, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged accessory to a crime and obstruction.

Cameron Lee Sanders, 27, of Delta was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $29,000 in bonds.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 1700 block of E. 5th Street.

Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Riley Lane to assist with a person having a medical emergency.

Code enforcement followed up on numerous notices of violation - keeping of junk throughout the city. The violations have been corrected.

A theft was reported at a residence in the 800 block of Meeker.

Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Palmer Street for a disturbance. Cade Joshua Kurtz, 21, of Delta was arrested and jailed for an alleged violation of a protection order.

May 17:

Code enforcement picked up a dog running at large in the 700 block of E. 7th Street. The adult female black and white terrier/cattle dog type dog was taken to TAILS for safekeeping.

An officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Highway 50 to assist code enforcement with an animal problem. Felix Antonio Quintero, 59, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged cruelty to animals.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at Maverik Gas Station. No injuries were reported or observed. No ticket was issued. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

An officer received information about suspicious drug activity.

Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of E. 4th Street on a report of a trespass. Lyle David Nitzel, 46, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged second degree trespass.

Western Convenience reported the theft of fuel.

May 13:

Officers responded to the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 92 on a report of a three-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. Galen Forrester Wood, 38, of Crawford was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving, failure to present evidence of insurance and displayed expired plates. The three vehicles were driven from the scene.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Palmer Street. Lindsay Jacqueline Glovan, 36, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance.

Kyler Samuel Lee Mason, 21, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting at City Market.

May 14:

The driver of a vehicle stopped by deputies in Paonia claimed to be afraid for his life. The information was passed on to the Paonia Police Department.

A Hotchkiss area resident reported fraudulent activity on his debit card.

Deputies conducted a welfare check on an elderly Hotchkiss resident. All was found to be okay.

May 15:

Deputies responded to Urgent Care to speak with a Hotchkiss area resident who had sustained a dog bite.

As a result of a traffic stop, Sabastian Soto, 19, of Delta was arrested on an active warrant.

A 14-year-old Austin female was reported as a runaway when she failed to return home after school.

An investigation was opened into a potential child abuse incident.

Deputies responded to reports of shots being fired on Alkali Basin near Delta. The reporting party said a series of gunshots was accompanied by yelling, screaming and dogs barking. When deputies arrived on the scene they were unable to locate the source of the commotion.

May 16:

Shortly after midnight, deputies assisted the Cedaredge Police Department with an incident involving an apparent accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen. The female victim was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital.

Deputies were dispatched to Urgent Care in Delta, where they interviewed the female victim of an assault. Randall Robertson was arrested and jailed for assault in the third degree following an incident that allegedly occurred near the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 65.

The theft of a hot water heater was reported from an address on Payne Siding Road near Hotchkiss.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on F Road near Delta. Investigation revealed no crime had been committed.

Deputies responded to an address on Fairview Road, Austin, for a reported suicide attempt.

May 17:

Anthony Martinez of Paonia was taken into custody on suspicion of DUID, failure to stay in a single lane and child abuse after a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 92 and H50 Road.

Deputies took a report of a juvenile problem involving two residents of Gateway Youth Services.

At about 5:40 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at an address on D Road in Crawford. James Brasiel was arrested and charged with assault, domestic violence and other criminal charges. One female was treated and released from the scene with minor injuries.

May 18:

At about 10 a.m., sheriff's deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 92 and Pleasure Park Road.

May 19:

Deputies responded to a cold traffic accident in the area of R Road and Ward Creek Road on Slaughter Grade, near Cedaredge. A large gray pickup was off the roadway, but the rear of the vehicle was still in the lane of travel, causing a hazardous situation.

Deputies responded to an address on Iris Road where a male party had reportedly been threatening suicide.

After responding to a disturbance on E Road, Delta, deputies arrested Christopher Rubalcaba for assault and an outstanding warrant out of Delta County.

After deputies observed suspicious activity at 1502 S. Main Street, Delta, the sheriff's K-9 unit was asked to assist. James Patrick Trujillo was arrested on outstanding warrants and Nicole Wickman of Montrose was charged with possession of an illegal substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
