Delta soccer ties; wins tilts

Last week's soccer action resulted in a tie and a win for the Delta Panthers. A tie with Roaring Fork (1-1) came after two overtime periods failed to produce a winner. That game was played on April 3. On April 5 Delta scored four goals in the first half of play and added two more scores in second half play for a 6-0 3A Region 3 victory.

The Panthers find themselves in second place in league play with a 2-0-1 record and a 4-3-1 overall mark. Basalt (1-0-0 and 4-1-0) is leading the league with Coal Ridge (1-0-1 and 1-4-1) resting in third place.

Against Roaring Fork on April 3, the Rams scored their only goal in the opening half while Delta scored its goal in second half play.

Delta hosts Vail Mountain April 12 at 6 p.m. and takes on visting Aspen on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m.

Delta is in Basalt April 17 for a 4 p.m. contest against the Longhorns.
