Next year, math teacher Danielle Lopez will be teaching a class Delta High has never seen before: Cyber Security. It is intended to be for GearUp students, but anyone can take the class and earn a credit from University of Colorado Springs. UCCS Cyber Security Initiative is the sponsor of this semester-long class.

At the end of the month Lopez will be attending a weeklong training in Colorado Springs. The class is an intensive pedagogy training in computer science, training her to be a teacher mentor for students who want to take computer science online next year. Her training is free seeing as she is a part of the computer science program, and tons of teachers in Colorado are doing the same.

Earning a college credit from the class requires payment, but aside from that it's free to take. Students all over Colorado are welcome to take the class.
