GEAR UP is a seven-year grant through the Department of Higher Education that will increase the number of students who go to college and stay in college. Delta High School will be accepting 60 freshmen into the program this year. The students will be given one-on-one mentoring, tutoring support, go on college visits, take advantage of dual enrollment, and they may qualify for a scholarship at the end of their senior year. GEAR UP also follows their students to college, where they give support, so they stay in college.
Earlier this month, the freshmen attended an assembly where they learned a little about the program and received an application. For more information on the program visit https://www.coloradogearup.org/ or contact Lisa Hill at email@example.com.
