This month at Delta High, two students have formed a club called Gay Straight Alliance. The club held an interest meeting on March 5 and it held its first official meeting on March 7. Chris Romero and Sadearah Hanson are the founders of Gay Straight Alliance. The club is so LGBTQ+ students have a safe place to go to and have people they feel comfortable talking to. It can be joined at any time and people who are not part of the LGBTQ+ community can join so they can show support for their peers.
"We started the club because we saw that there wasn't really community for the queer community. There wasn't really a place for people like Chris and I... for them to feel accepted. We did this so everyone could be accepted. Not just people of the queer community, but everyone. We just wanted a place for support," said Hanson and Romero.
